The University equips its students to make a contribution to society, to be prepared to give an extra effort to the betterment of humanity. The Baccalaureate Service reminds the graduating class of this honourable responsibility.

Prior to the ceremony, Graduands should informally line up in the lower corridor (basement) of University Hall, and enter and leave Convocation Hall as on graduation day. Graduands wear academic gowns, but no hoods or headdress to this service.
